PA14 Clune Park
Clune Park situated in Port Glasgow, stands as a reminder of Scotlands shipbuilding industry decline. once a thriving community, this historic shipyard town now sits in desolation, with only a few remaining residents out of 430 flats. Established in the 19th century, Clune Park, fell victim to the privitisation of the shipyards during the rein of Margret Thatcher. Following the closure of Clune Parks church in 1997, locals began moving to other areas, causing an increase in antisocial behaviours. Evidently leading to the Clune Park Primary School being burnt down in 2023. David Small, a previous resident of Clune Park, reflects on his time growing up in the area. Despite the areas reputation David, continues to remain to have fond memories of town from his younger years and also after moving back in the 2000s during in his adult life.
